Just as the sweet promise of the Easter break was whispering in the Budapest air, the NIX office transformed into a vibrant hub of friendly rivalry, strategic thinking, and outright fun. Yes, it was time for the much-anticipated Board Game Night, and judging by the buzz and laughter echoing through floors, it was a resounding success. 🥳😂💯

While some might picture IT professionals and office workers in general glued to their 🖥️, the reality at NIX begs to differ. Board Game Night is a testament to NIX’s vibrant social scene and the genuine curiosity and camaraderie that exists across departments. 🎲♟️
Codenames and Connections:
The evening kicked off with a flurry of game setups, but one title seemed to draw a particularly enthusiastic crowd: Codenames.
We chose Codenames, because we already knew it and thought it would make a pretty good party game with lots of interactions. In fact, it was a challenge for everyone, but it also helped us bond, cooperate, and get new information about each other and how people’s minds work. We started playing as our usual group; however, as the evening progressed, other co-workers joined us. In the end, there were quite a few of us from several departments at NIX!
We split up into two teams, playing against each other during multiple sessions. I even got to be captain twice and my team won a few rounds. It’s a tough job to be captain because you hold cards with various pictures, and you must find a single word that connects them all. It also calls for teamwork and aligned thinking from your teammates, who have to guess your cards. I have attended Game Night at NIX before, but then we played something completely different. It is always great fun because there’s a wide variety of games to choose from and plenty of new people to meet.
Snacks, Strategy, and Socializing:
The evening wasn’t just about winning. For some, it was the diverse range of activities, the welcoming atmosphere and the food that made it truly special.
We played many different games: card games, ones that required you to be fast, and there was one where you had to identify movie titles and celebrities by iconized images. It was very nice! We met a lot of new people who just came to our table. We got to have short talks with them in English and it was all very international.
The food was awesome, too: just when we digested all the 🥜🥨🍿, at around 8pm, there was a second round of pizzas! That was super thoughtful and nice. I’d definitely attend Board Game Night again for the opportunity to meet colleagues in such a casual way.
That’s the kind of vibe we love — relaxed, inclusive, and full of little moments that bring big smiles. If this sounds like your kind of team, take a peek at NIX vacancies and come join the next round — not just as a guest, but as one of us. 💛
