Whispers of The Lord of the Rings Quiz (LOTR) spread like elven songs on the wind 🌬🏔. One by one, the sharpest minds across Middle-NIX answered the call. Hobbits, elves, gnomes, and men gathered to test their wits in the greatest battle in all the lands of Arda!
How did this night unfold? The Palantíri are ready to reveal it all… But let’s start from the very beginning 🔮

Under One Roof They Came, from Hill and Hollow
On June 26, as the sun set over the Misty Mountains, the fellowship began to arrive at the appointed place. Old friends reunited, new alliances were forged, and the room filled with the cheerful hum and clinking bottles! Some took their places at the tables, sharing laughs over their favorite book quotes. Others snapped photos and debated whether Gandalf would actually be good at trivia 🧙🌚
When the excitement reached its peak, a figure cloaked in grey appeared on the stage. Gandalf had arrived — not as a guest, but as the quiz host. Curious minds were ready. Hearts were open for adventure.
✨ The Palantír shimmered… and the game began.
It was my very first Quiz Night, and the second I saw the hosts fully dressed up, I thought, ‘Okay wow — so this is how we do things here’ 🤣
Sure, we all wanted to win (who doesn’t?), but I’ll admit — I wasn’t too focused on the scoreboard. I was way too busy soaking up the energy! Just being there, surrounded by laughter and friends who love Tolkien as much as I do… it truly felt like stepping into a warm summer evening in the Shire 🧑🌾🍄. No orcs in sight, thank God — just great company and cold drinks as a pleasant bonus.
A Battle of Wits Worthy of the White Council Started
Gandalf — who had clearly done his homework in Elrond’s library — conjured questions so tricky, even the wisest elves broke a sweat. The atmosphere quickly turned intense 🔥. Brows wrinkled, phones were held tight, eyes scanned the ceiling as if the answers were written in the stars.
All 14 glorious teams were locked in. They dug deep into their memories to recall even the smallest details they knew about the LOTR universe! From the name of Gil-galad’s spear to the background music in specific scenes… For them, it wasn’t just any quiz! It was a battle for bragging rights ⚔️
I consider myself pretty much a Tolkien expert…you know, the kind who can recite the family tree of Aragorn backwards 😂. But some of those questions? Oh, they were hardcore. ‘Which emotional scene does this piece of music play in?’ And all we had to go on was a short snippet of the soundtrack and a picture of Sam crying. I mean, whaaat is going on here?
We started throwing out theories, debating which character’s death it could be… total, beautiful chaos. Even though I kept second-guessing every 20 seconds, the whole thing felt like one big love letter to Tolkien’s world. And I was completely here for it 🧝♂️💍
But In the End, the Song Was of Fellowship
Because one thing never got lost in the fight: glory comes and goes — fellowship stays forever! Even the fiercest of battles in Middle-NIX end with hearts alight and spirits lifted. For when the folk of our lands gather, it is not for victory alone, nor for the treasures that shine. It is for something far deeper: a sincere love for the things that bind us, the preciousss moments we create together ❤️🔥
And so, when the final question was asked and the scores were tallied, the hall rang with clapping hands and voices raised in joy 🍻. For the winners who proved their worth and the teamwork as unbreakable as a mithril chain!

Our crew has an unofficial “anthem” — Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight). So when it came time to pick a name for Quiz Night, we knew we had to stick to tradition. And that’s how we became: “Gimli, Gimli, Gimli a Man After Midnight” It’s a pun. It’s symbolic. And yes — it’s so us 🫂
We’re a close-knit bunch of fun lovers, and honestly, I couldn’t ask for a better team. Everyone brought something special to the table: one had trivia superpowers, another kept our spirits high, and someone (very importantly) made us laugh the whole way through.
For us, it’s never just about winning — it’s about the jokes, the chaos, and the good vibes. If we don’t land in the top spots, no biggie — we go to an escape room! Yes, every time! It’s our way of keeping the fun going (and cheering myself up a little too 😄). Because win or lose, we always find a way to make it epic.
However, this time we got the best of both worlds — we took first place and won tickets to a LOTR-themed escape room!!!
And so the Palantíri dimmed, their visions fading like twilight. The fellowship parted, not in sorrow, but in gladness — for they knew their paths would cross again 🌙. And who knows — maybe next time, you‘ll be part of the gathering too!
