At NIX, team-building is more than just a tradition; it’s a way of life. We believe in recharging together, discovering new ways to understand one another, and creating lasting memories. Recently, the Python Department took a trip to the Tatra Mountains, and we can’t help but tell you about it!
Touching the Cloud ☁️
Many of us probably watched clouds drifting across the blue sky in our childhood and imagined how cool it would be to ride on them. By the way, maybe that’s why Python engineers are so drawn to cloud technologies! Well, on this journey, you could say that the dream came true — the team was in the clouds, literally 😆
Oleksii Novikov, Python Team Lead:
“Rain endlessly falling from the sky, gusty winds at the mountain summit, fingers stiff from the cold and moisture, and a slightly tired but truly united TEAM!
I can confidently say that we started the hike as one team, but returned as another — more cohesive, hardened, and accomplished 💪”
It may seem like the guys were unlucky with the weather due to fog and rain. But the hikers are ready to tell you otherwise.
Zsombor Seres, Python Developer:
“The hiking trip was harder than I expected, but it was the most memorable part of our trip, and also helped inner bonding in our team. In total, it was 14+ km with a lot of evaluation, 5 hours in a row. Yes, it was raining, and there was a strong wind. But we pushed through and saw the forest and the mountains in special scenery! When we reached the top of the mountains, we saw a lake where ducks were swimming. One of us joined them 😅. When we headed back, it was a really good feeling, that we didn’t quit and still completed the full distance together.”
Eduard Laskarzhevskyi, Python Engineer:
“I love hiking in the mountains and have visited the Carpathians many times, but hiking in the Tatras with our team was a new experience. The mountains are a great way to relax and clear your mind, and this trip didn’t disappoint. Despite the rain and clouds, we enjoyed walking along the rocky paths and reconnecting with nature.”
Warm Up, Grill Meat, and Dance 😎
The hike was the main focus of the trip, but also campfires and BBQs. The place where the team stayed left a lasting impression. The group lodged in modern wooden huts nestled in the mountains, with a mountain stream rushing nearby. Simple pleasures, like savoring a cup of delicious coffee, were enough to create good memories.
“We spent almost all our time together: eating, drinking, joking, lighting fires, chopping wood, dancing to loud music in the yard, in the house, and even in the van. We talked about all kinds of topics we could think of, and it was very interesting. Time passed very quickly and unnoticed! The experience left everyone with a strong desire for more 🤗”, Eduard said.
Denys Pryslipskyi, Python Developer, had his expectations exceeded:
“I didn’t expect the accommodation to be so comfortable and the food to be so abundant. Our hike was the highlight — organized professionally with two team members guiding us. Even though the weather wasn’t on our side, we ended up visiting more lakes and waterfalls than planned, thanks to our teamwork and determination.”
The trip was a mix of beautiful scenery, rain-soaked adventures, and strong team spirit. Whether it was dancing around the fire or hiking through the misty mountains, the experience brought everyone closer together.
As Denys put it, “I can’t say for sure if we’ll return to these mountains, but I would love to explore new places with the team. The support, help, and great time we shared made this trip truly special.”
At NIX, we believe that these moments of connection and exploration strengthen us as a team.
Taras Seryogin, Python Team Lead:
“Team-building events have a rich history in NIX, and I’m sure hiking once a year will be a good new tradition for our department. Reaching the top gives us not only new experiences but also strengthens team spirit, helping us achieve new professional heights!”
We look forward to the next adventure! Want to join us? Search for current vacancies and courses and start your journey with NIX!
